Andy Brookes heads up the health and social care team at accountants Hazlewoods, and one part of his role is to act as advisor to clients who want to sell their business. He helps them choose the right buyers, and has connections with all the private equity houses in the sector.
“One of our clients was Aspirations Care, a supported living business. We had worked with the business for a number of years and then sold the business: August Equity was the preferred bidder because they focused on delivering the right overall deal, not just price, but the other terms and the process, including who was going to work on the deal.
“August Equity sets a realistic timeline that everybody sticks to. They are good at making sure things happen and that’s largely because they communicate, they appoint advisors that actually understand the sectors that they work in, and are of the right size, and it’s putting all those bits together that makes the core work.”
