Case Study - Planit

The structure of a business needs to be considered throughout the life of the investment. As the business grows and changes so does the internal structure. We can provide guidance on how best to react to these changes.

Planit

Planit develops and supports Computer Aided Manufacturing ("CAM") software and services for the woodworking, cabinet-making, engineering and stone industries.

On completion of the management buy-out we focused the business on a significant change management program.  The business was restructured from eight small company entities into a cohesive group, centralising the R&D, marketing and finance functions.  In order to concentrate on the main business opportunity, the fast growing CAM market, Planit sold its retail division, Fusion, to 20-20 Technologies Inc for £19 million.

We then worked with the management team to implement the business plan incorporating a successful strategy to increase support revenues, an improved R&D program, a significant cost saving initiative and a cash management program.

Planit is currently the fifth largest player for CAM worldwide.
