August Equity usually appoints an independent chairman to the board of its investments. Each chairman is carefully chosen in consultation with the portfolio company’s management team.
We want to meet with chairmen who possess a wide range of experience, particularly in M&A and private equity backed businesses, who can demonstrate a track record of entrepreneurship and business acumen.
We are looking for independent chairmen who are good judges of people and have an ability to motivate them. They must have the ability to inspire trust and respect, have good communication skills, be objective and have past experience of creating value.
The chairman’s role is to ensure that the strategy for the business is monitored and adhered to. Additionally, the chairman can play an important role in leading discussions in the run up to an exit.
You will be rewarded through appropriate emoluments, possible participation in equity incentive schemes, and the satisfaction of monitoring and coaching entrepreneurial management teams in exciting and growing businesses.
