Lifeways completes acquisition of Oaklands

August Equity LLP’s (“August Equity”) portfolio company, Lifeways Community Care Limited (“Lifeways”), has completed the acquisition of Oaklands Community Care (“Oaklands”).  The acquisition represents the sixth acquisition that Lifeways has completed since it secured an additional acquisition facility from the Ares Private Debt Group in July 2011.

Oaklands delivers care and support services to people with learning disabilities and mental health issues and has operated in Derby for over 25 years. Its service is registered as 3 stars with the Care Quality Commission, which fits well with Lifeways own high quality levels.

Lifeways is the UK's leading provider of supported living for people with complex needs.  It provides care for over 3,200 service users and employs over 5,500 people. Lifeways was recently announced as the number one business in LAING’S HEALTHCARE 20 2011, a report profiling the leading companies in the UK independent healthcare sector.

Paul Marriner, CEO of Lifeways, commented: “The past few months have seen us build considerable scale in the group.  We are now the clear market leader and are delighted to add Oaklands to the group. It is a high quality provider of care services and enhances our presence in Derby.”

Aatif Hassan, August Equity partner, added: "We are delighted with the recent developments in Lifeways.  The business has continued to grow scale which has been accelerated by the recent acquisitions. The team has performed strongly and will ensure the recent acquisitions are integrated within the Lifeways group.”
