Portfolio company Boat International makes two acquisitions

August Equity LLP ("August Equity") is pleased to announce that portfolio company Boat International Media Limited ("Boat International") has completed the double acquisition of The Wood Report and the remaining 50% stake in the Captains' Hideout.

The Wood Report is the leading database and information provider for the superyacht industry having been built and maintained by Malcolm Wood over the last two decades. The Wood Report will form a critical part of the Boat International digital platform.

The Captains' Hideout is an established event for captains and their crews at superyacht shows worldwide including the Monaco and Fort Lauderdale shows. Boat International has been jointly responsible for the event over the last five years and has now acquired the remaining interest in the event from its partner.

The acquisitions follow Boat International's latest title launch, Boat International Gulf, a bi-monthly title for the Middle East market which complements the existing portfolio of titles covering Russia, the USA, France and Germany.

Tony Harris, CEO of Boat International, said: "The recent acquisitions demonstrate Boat International's growing presence in the superyacht market." On the latest launch, Tony commented, "Boat International Gulf is targeted at a highly affluent and sophisticated market and the best way to reach them is to communicate in their own language. We've partnered with ITP in Dubai, the Middle East's largest business and consumer magazine publisher."

Fraser Davidson, investment director at August Equity, said: "These are exciting developments for Boat International. The core business is performing exceptionally well underpinned by the strong underlying economics of the sector. We look forward to an exciting phase of development for Boat International."
