Planit is an international Computer Aided Manufacturing (“CAM”) software and services business.
August acquired Planit through a public-to-private transaction in September 2006, marking its first P2P investment.
During August’s ownership, the management team was strengthened, legacy acquisitions were successfully integrated, and non-core divisions were sold.
By exit, Planit had established a strong presence in the UK and US, held top-five market positions in France, Germany, Italy, and Scandinavia, and was growing quickly in markets including Brazil, China, and India.
Planit’s five branded solutions became well-known in metal fabrication, woodworking, and production engineering. The company built long-term relationships with over 40,000 customers, supported by a network of 90 resellers across 40 countries and more than 12,000 customers on contracted maintenance programs.
