Polaris provides traffic-permitting, offence-processing and asset-tracking software to public sector bodies and police forces.
August initially invested in StarTraq in 2023. In 2024, following the appointment of CEO Kevin McCallum, the group was rebranded as Polaris Software. This brought together three leading businesses: StarTraq Limited, Farthest Gate Limited and JML Software Solutions Limited.
Oxfordshire-based Polaris has longstanding relationships with police and local authorities across the UK, and a growing international footprint. The business’ cloud solutions automate back-office processes such as processing traffic and parking violations, permit applications and environmental offences, and enable tracking of high-risk police assets such as tasers and firearms.
With August’s support, Polaris is investing in organic growth, supported by targeted acquisitions in new geographies and adjacent end-markets. Polaris represents a strong adjacency to previous August investments in compliance-driven tech and cloud software businesses.
